Already promoted JCB beat Barhoppers to win the Crawley Pool League Division One title.

As the final week played out for the Premier and First divisions in the Crawley Pool League it couldn’t have been a closer battle.

The Second Division still has four weeks remaining and is led by Samuel Johnson, then the Inn-Crowd in second and in third The Rocketeers.

Division 1’s JCB & Mavericks entered the final week level on points after 21 weeks.

With promotion already guaranteed to the Premier Division for the first time for JCB the title meant everything.

On the night they demolished their opponents the Barhoppers 10-3, while Mavericks just managed a 7-6 win over the New Moon Rejects.

The final standings see JCB top on 158 points, followed by Mavericks in second on 155 points and in third on 43 points are the Nomads who are set to return to the Premier division after just one year out.

Relegation looms for at least one of two teams tied in last place depending on entries for next season they are Windmill A & Steamy Llama.

The Premier division was won by Special K as reported last week but the battle here was for the runner-up position, with just five points between them the Raiders and the Fairways needed to produce a strong scoreline to stand a chance of either holding the second place slot or in the case of the Fairways moving up.

Both teams delivered a 10-3 victory on the night as texts flew between players and this win secured Raiders as the runners up.

After a poor six weeks for Scrum PJack, having lost a key player, Dave Wells, just after Christmas (as he moved away from the area), they finished in last place.

Scrum PJack along with Happy Slappers and Copthorne Beachbums will be relegated to the first division for next season.

The Second Division still has four weeks remaining and is led by Samuel Johnson, then the Inn-Crowd in second and in third The Rocketeers.

With a large points difference between second and thirrd, first and second place look decided already but can joint fourth placed Jubilee Club or Lils Lab Rats make up the 11 point gap difference in those last few games remaining?

The Jubilee Club League Singles final was held last night (Tuesday) between Adam McSharry and Stuart Goodwin.
