This is the first time that we have staged a World Snooker Tour event in Crawley and we have no doubt that K2 will prove an excellent venue.”World Snooker spokesman
Among the famous green baize kings in action will be Whirlwind White, former World Champions Ken Doherty and Peter Ebdon, and two-time world finalist Ali Carter.
In all there will be 112 players in the field, with the 16 winners going through to the final stages in Australia at the end of June.
There is no need for fans to book, they can come along on the day and watch high quality snooker for free.
A spokesman for World Snooker said: “Many sporting events are very expensive these days, so the chance to see top quality live snooker for free must not be missed.
“Fans who have seen the sport played on TV but never witnessed it live should come along and enjoy the incredible skills of these players and the unique atmosphere.
“Hopefully they will then be encouraged to come to more of our tournaments.
