Crawley Down fielded new signing Matt Harden on dual forms from Conference South club Tonbridge Angels.

He replaced Miles Mitchell who was getting married and Gaby Odunaike came in for the injured Luke Blewden up front.

Jamie Cade is out for several week with a leg injury after has been flipped over the bonnet of a car while shopping (see story on page 26) and Ross Morley is away on holiday in Mexico.

Fraser Logan calmly chipped the ball over the wall from just outside the box, leaving keeper Danny Bracken stranded. His 44th minute goal proved sufficient to take the three points.

Delighted manager John Maggs said: “We played extremely well despite having four first team players out.

“Fraser scored a quality goal just before half-time. We’ve stemmed the flow of goals and are back in the hunt.”

Di Bernardo’s prevented Casuals from running away with the game, making a series of second half saves from from arch predator Jamie Byatt.

Pacey Odunaike rounded the Casuals defence on a few occasions with Jean-Michel Sigere and Logan going close.

Down: Di Bernardo, Slocombe, Harden, Richards, Donaghey, Page, Sargent, Pass, Sigere (Bingham), Odunaike, Logan.

Attendance: 112

Man of the Match:

Tony Di Bernardo
