Ladies League

Denham Ladies 4

Crawley Wasps Ladies 0

Wasps were unable to sparkle during this bonfire weekend fixture.

Denham squeezed through the central defenders to confidently put away their opening goal to the right of keeper Hillman.

A Wasps’ free-kick was closed down quickly and with Denham winning possession back they finished their second real chance.

Wasps’ hopes to see out the two-goal deficit until half-time were dealt a harsh blow minutes before the break when a hopeful Denham lob just eluded keeper Rachel Hillman who looked to have it comfortably covered.

Matilda Hallgren replaced Nicholle Smith and Holly Walker joined the frontline. A much better and committed second half followed.

Wasps: Hillman, Stephenson, Harding, T Smith, Walker, Elliott, N Smith, Martin (Capt), Duncan, Barry, Worsfold, Ward, Hallgren

Wallace Walker Player of the Match: Matilda Hallgren

Crawley Wasps Ladies travel this Sunday in the league to strong Hemel Hempstead Ladies FC, kick-off 2pm.
