TABLE TENNIS: Waterman upsets unbeatable Barna as Trinity shock the highflyers

Trinity A 5 Horsham A 4

Trinity gained a fantastic win against title challengers Horsham A’s regular side of Dan Barna, Steve Barby and Tony Catt.

This was mainly due to the performance of the season from Raj Waterman. He beat the previously unbeaten Dan Barna three straight, Steve Barby who had only lost one all season in four games and Tony Catt 3-0. He was ably supported by John Robinson and Joe Comper who both beat Catt.

Foresters B 9 Horsham D 0

A comfortable win for Foresters with Dave Steel, Nick Gamblin and Johnny Clarke all winning maximums.

Foresters C 2 Horsham C 7

Matt Craig won the only two sets against Colin Jones and Michael Bridger, father and daughter Barry and Kate Cheer battled hard with no reward.

Crawley Community B 4 Crawley Community A 5

A closely contested match between the As and Bs saw the As prevail. Barrie Gilbert scored a maximum, Phil Richardson beat Bipin Majithia in four winning the second game 22-20. Andy Meads fought hard without success. Graham Green won two using his full array of colourful language and Graham Faulkner won two. in only his second match.

Foresters A 8 Horsham E 1

Comfortable maximums for the two star players Adam Todd and Wes Bush-Harris well backed up by Mike Robinson. Chris Vincent gained an excellent a four-set win over Mike Robinson.

Foresters D 1 Horsham B 8

Csaba Balint gained Foresters’ sole point with a win over Stephen Hoad who was playing up. Steve Pound and Mark Collins scored convincing maximums for Horsham B.
