IT was smiles galore for the winners of the 2008 Herald/Gazette Child of the Year competition last week, when they were presented with their prizes.
Winners and their families gathered at Little Monkeys nursery and pre-school, in Grosvenor Road, Worthing, to be presented with their prizes by Mick Plumb, deputy editor of the Worthing Herald.
The Child of the Year overall winner was Destiny Sayle, three, of Belsize Road, Worthing, and her prize was a family holiday at Pontins.
Vaughan Gander was the winner of the 0 to nine months category; Lexie Foster was crowned winner of the 10 to 18 months category; the winner of the 19 to 36 months category was Amelia Rose Colvin; and Danielle Young won the three to five years category.
They were also joined at the presentation by childcare practitioner Michelle Savage and the nursery's owner, Lyn Povey.
