Blues galore at theatre

There is Blues galore at The Hawth, Crawley, in the coming months so the invitation is to come and enjoy performances from some of the best in the business in the Studio at one of the Cabaret Blues nights or in the theatre.

Cabaret Blues: Enjoy the following performances in a cabaret setting complete with a choice of daily specials, sharing platters and drinks from Café Vita which you can enjoy at your table:

Aynsley Lister Thur 21 & Fri 22 February 7.45pm, Studio

Regarded as one of the UK’s finest proponents of rocking blues, this is a rare chance to see Aynsley Lister up close and personal in a stripped down, intimate setting.

Aynsley’s solo performances are the perfect platform to witness his amazing ability to sync rhythmical chords, bass lines and stinging lead guitar whilst singing and accompanying it all with his custom-built stomp box! Aynsley is the only British artist to be featured in Classic Rock’s Top 10 Contemporary Blues Rock Artists. Tickets: £15

Bagge, Armer & Piggott Tue 19 March 7.45pm, Studio

A rare opportunity to catch three superb blues musicians together - Nigel Bagge (guitar/vocals), Eddie Armer (harps) and Mike Piggott (violin/guitar). Nigel’s credits include the Mighty 45s, Duck Soup and Peter Green’s band, Eddie plays with The Lonnigans, Dave Beckett and Kevin Barber and Mike features in The Hot Club trio. Tickets: £12

Ian Siegal Sat 27 April 7.45pm, Studio

A solo performance by Male Vocalist Award-winner for the last two years at the British Blues Awards, and 2010 Band of The Year Award. Ian is ‘one of the most gifted singers and writers in contemporary blues’ MOJO Tickets: £12

Smokestack Trio Thur 16 May 7.45pm, Studio

Smokestack’s approach to the blues is a unique mix of original songs, jazz and latin grooves, big toned harmonica and sophisticated slide guitar.

The trio have just released their third album and remain a popular fixture on the Blues and festival circuit. Tickets: £12

As well as the four fantastic Cabaret nights the Hawth also has Tommy Emmanuel and special guest Martin Taylor in the main theare on Monday 18 March 7.30pm.

Two-time Grammy nominee Tommy Emmanuel’s career spans over four decades and has garnered hundreds of thousands of loyal fans worldwide.

Martin Taylor is a multi-award winning guitarist described by Acoustic Guitar as ‘THE acoustic guitarist of his generation’. Tickets: £20 (£22 on door)
