Spokeswoman Lorraine McGregor said: “You could say that the duo were formed in the blue heat of the Crawley Blues Festival as these two outstanding musicians, who live within a stone’s throw of each other in London had been threatening to get together for a number of years.

“The festival was the catalyst when Ben sat in on Guy’s set, and the rest as they say, is history.

“Solo performances by the two artists are sublime in themselves.

“However combine their outstanding talents and you run out of superlatives.

“Don’t miss this rare performance by the two together.

“Ben was born in London but raised in the deep south of the United States and his musical style reflects these experiences.

“His guitar-playing is an intoxicating blend; from the raw delta blues of Robert Johnson to the powerful soundscapes of Jimmy Page. This combined with a soulful voice and commanding stage presence completes the picture of a very unique artist.

“Guy was born and raised in Pasadena, California, and is currently based in London.

“What he does as a songwriter and performer is what people like to call Americana these days… a hard term to define as it seems to mean different things depending on who you’re talking to.

“If to you it means original songs, well-constructed and well performed, in some of the various musical styles that originated in the USA, as well as interpreting the work of other writers with depth and feeling, then you should check him out now.”

Tickets for Ben Tysack and Guy Tortora (£14) can be purchased by calling 01293 553636 or by visiting www.hawth.co.uk.
