Chris turns performer at folk club

Arundel’s Willows Folk Club organiser Chris Davis turns performer for the latest date at the venue.

The Southdown Ramblers take to the stage on Wednesday, November 16 - and Chris is promising a fun-filled, high-energy evening from the local bluegrass band.

“Ever since their formation in 2003, the Ramblers have brought something unique to the local music scene, presenting classic bluegrass music in a dynamic and fun way, with a strong emphasis on entertainment value,” Chris said.

“Leaving audiences tapping their feet and calling for more, the Ramblers pack a strong musical punch, with pulse-pounding mandolin, guitar and bass underpinning strong vocal harmonies.

“For the band’s appearance at the Willows, they’re joined on stage by local luminary and ace fiddle player Jon Wigg and multi-instrumentalist Rick Townend on banjo, for an evening that is set to be a true bluegrass extravaganza and a celebration of the excitement and energy of bluegrass music!”

Entrance for the band’s gig on Wednesday, November 16 is £4. The Willows Folk Club first opened its doors to the public more than 35 years ago. It now meets every Wednesday at 8pm in the function room of Arundel Football Club, Mill Road, Arundel, situated to the rear of the large public car park opposite Arundel Castle.
