Club bids farewell to Isambarde

The Willows Folk Club in Arundel welcomes back the dynamic, young three-piece Isambarde as their next special guest act, as part of the band’s farewell tour.

The band take to the Willows’ stage again on Wednesday, July 6.

Chris Davis, of the club, said: “Isambarde perform an exciting mixture of traditional and contemporary folk, with amazing three-part vocal harmonies and a fresh, inventive approach to instrumentation, with traditional folk instruments such as guitar and fiddle coupled with the oboe.

“The band, comprising Chris Green on vocals and guitar, Emily Sanders on vocals and fiddle, and Jude Rees on vocals and oboe, have already won themselves legions of supporters all over the UK and abroad. Amongst their fans is Show of Hands’ Phil Beer, who praised the band for their energy and enthusiasm.

“Last year the band broke the hearts of many folk fans when they announced that they would be amicably disbanding towards the end of 2011, and have embarked on a whirlwind series of dates encompassing many of their favourite venues. This tour includes an appearance at the Willows, where they delivered a triumphant and well-attended performance last year.”

Entrance is £5. The Willows Folk meets every Wednesday at 8pm in the function room of Arundel Football Club, Mill Road, Arundel, situated to the rear of the large public car park opposite Arundel Castle. For more information about the club, call 07790 511054 or log on to www.willowsfolkclub.org.
