Coo-Ca-Choosing new name and look led to hits

WHO on earth would ever buy a song called My Coo-Ca-Choo by a performer called Alvin Stardust?

Even Stardust '“ previously Shane Fenton '“ admits he thought his second coming was over before it had even started.

But how wrong can you be?

Under his new name, he went on to sell millions, with My Coo-Ca-Choo charting at number two. Its follow-up, Jealous Mind, hit the number one spot and was followed by successes including Red Dress and You You You '“ songs that Stardust will be revisiting on his latest tour.

It is pretty much the first time he has toured on his own since the 1970s, as recent ones have seen him sharing the bill with contemporaries including Suzi Quatro, and will see Stardust taking in a date at Horsham's Capitol on September 28.

The theme is a celebration of 50 fabulous years of rock 'n' roll says Stardust, who is proud of the fact that he has lived just near Horsham for more than 20 years now.
