With guitar, fiddle, banjo, and mandolin, their sound is a melting pot of Appalachian, British, and rural American influences, full of exciting fiddle tunes, earthy grooves, elegant melodies and rich harmony singing.

They are playing Horsham Folk Club, The Normandy Centre, on Sunday, June 14.

The genius of a Dana and Susan Robinson performance lies in their ability to capture the imagination of their audience, as they take them on a journey across America and convey the mystery and wonder of the places they visit.

Their unique blend of original songwriting and traditional Appalachian music brings to their performances a deep understanding of America’s musical heritage.

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Dana relocated to New England where he discovered both a thriving songwriters scene and the deep well of traditional mountain music.

In the early 1980s, Dana settled in northern Vermont and built a house “off the grid” (no electricity and phone) on 30 acres near the Canadian border.

There he founded a popular bakery, café, and music venue.

Dana launched into full-time touring after the release of his 1994 debut CD, Elemental Lullabye. Dana met Susan in 2002 at a house concert in California, where Susan was living and working in environmental policy.

A musician in her own right, it didn’t take much convincing for Susan to leave her respectable day job and take to the road with Dana.

The show starts at 7.45pm.

Tickets cost £8 (£6 members). Call 01403 268611 or visit www.horshamfolkclub.co.uk.

The musicians are also coming to Ashington on Saturday, June 20. They perform at Old Time Music Day, The Manor House Barn, Warminghurst Park Lane.
