The next Coolham Live Music Club gigs take place at Coolham Village Hall on Saturday and Sunday, October 11 and 12, featuring The Micky Moody Band and Catfish.

However, he’s been in dozens of other bands in a career that spans almost fifty years. He’s been a member of Snafu, Juicy Lucy, Frankie Miller’s Full House, Roger Chapman And The Shortlist to name but a few. An active session man throughout, Micky has initiated bands such as the Moody/ Marsden Band, Company Of Snakes and is currently to be seen with Snakecharmer and The Bad Apples.

Micky’s looking forward to performing in Coolham’s intimate venue.

In the latest incarnation of the Micky Moody Band, the guitarist has a stellar line-up with a stirling rock and roll pedigree. Lead vocalist Ali Maas (originally from Horsham) has been a singer from an early age and wrote all material for her original indie rock band McQueen before immersing herself in the blues. She has her own band, The Ali Maas Band, and sings on a regular basis with the likes of Alan Glen and Papa George. Ali is also a talented and respected artist.

Bass player Pete Rees is a highly-respected player who was the regular bassist for Gary Moore until Moore’s untimely death. An in-demand session man, he has also worked with Bobby Tench and Papa George.

Drummer Tom Compton was a member of the Alvin Lee Band before moving to the States to take up a fourteen-year appointment with blues legend Johnny Winter.

He was also a member of Savoy Brown and has recorded with Edgar Winter, Dr. John and John Lee Hooker.

Micky and the band will be performing the music they all share a love for – rocking blues with a twist of swampy, sultry soul. There will also be some original songs in the set from the recently formed Moody/ Maas think tank, plus a couple of blasts from the past!
