The band has been brought together and is led by Simon Bates. He plays sax, flute and clarinet and is an esteemed front row musician.

The rest of the band is made up of some of the UK’s finest musicians, including the legendary Gareth Williams (piano) and Pete Cater (drums).

The band will play arrangements by Duke Ellington, Neil Hefty and Count Basie with an irrepressible degree of energy and high precision. Unusually for the club, the band will perform on the big stage and the audience will be concert seated.

Steyning Jazz Club meets at Fletcher’s Croft at 8.30pm. Doors open at 7.45pm. For more information call Denis Cummings on 01903 814017.
