Little Common Morning Townswomen's Guild

THE chairman welcomed 68 members to the annual meeting.The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved. After the chairman's opening address the secretary and treasurer gave their respective reports. The election of officers for 2008-09 took place and the present committee was re-elected - there being no new members to stand.

Our treasurer, who has done a truly wonderful job for so long, is eager to retire but no replacement has yet been found, she is willing to carry on at least until a replacement can be found, however the matter is becoming quite urgent - HELP please!

The chairman announced the retirement of our secretary, Jean Davis, she said she has done a wonderful job over the past two years and will be sadly missed - particularly her wonderful sense of humour! The chairman then presented Jean with a gift in appreciation of a very sterling effort.

It was announced by the chairman that we will be making a 1,000 donation to our chosen charity of the past year - The Sussex Air Ambulance Service.

We broke for a coffee and biscuits during the meeting and after the raffle had been drawn we all partook of 'wine and Nimbles!'

The next meeting will be held at Little Common Village Hall on Thursday, April 24 at 10am. New members and visitors most welcome.
