Mid Sussex Choir continues to raise funds for Shoreham Lifeboats

Mid Sussex Choir’s recent Christmas concert was a great success and started the fundraising for Shoreham Lifeboats.

The choir sang extracts from Bach’s Christmas oratorio as part of a program of popular Christmas songs and carols.

The singers were supported by soloists Katharine Collett and Annette Robinson, and raised funds via a collection at the end.

David Waterhouse, the choir chairman, said: “As we are a community choir we need some money from ticket prices to cover the cost of our concerts. However, we support our chosen charity by holding a collection at the end of each concert.”

A Night at the Opera is the title of the spring concert on April 18, at the Methodist Church on Perrymount Road, Haywards Heath. The concert will include a number of soloists, including Katharine Collett, Annette Robinson and a number of singers who study with Janet Gration.

The choir will be singing many well known opera pieces, which should be great fun to learn and sing.

There is always a warm welcome for new choir members.

The choir rehearses at Haywards Heath Methodist Church on Wednesdays at 7.45pm. There are no auditions and there is no need to be able to read music.
