Musical magic for Christmas

Christmas magic comes to Guildford on Saturday, December 10 at 7.30pm, when Barry Rose returns to Holy Trinity Church to conduct Guildford Philharmonic’s The Glory of Christmas.

Barry conducted the sell-out Christmas concert Christmas is coming… two years ago. The Glory of Christmas is another programme of Christmas favourites both sacred and secular, to suit all tastes, including excerpts from Handel’s Messiah and carols from around the world.

This year he is joined by the Guildford Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Guildford Camerata, Malcolm Archer who is the director of chapel music at Winchester College (organ) and Amy Carson, who starred in Kenneth Brannagh’s film The Magic Flute (soprano).

The evening ends with a glass of mulled wine and mince pies at the historic Guildhall.

Tickets on 01483 444777.
