The privately owned attraction used to be called the Old Roman Palace. It is just off the A29 just a mile from Bury and the villa was found while ploughing during the Napoleonic War in 1811.

It is in a great position looking south towards the downs, placed on a ridge of greens and looking back towards Sutton and beyond to Petworth and over the Weald. The Arun valley lies to the east with wonderful views extending towards the Devil's Dyke.
