Spokesman John Brigden said: “Crowd favourite Willie Austen headlines in the afternoon with his trusty band, including his amazing lead guitarist Paul Stenton.

“The gates open at 11.45am, and the stage springs to life at noon with the amazing Surrey Hills Ukulele Band who touch on the cornerstones of musical history from ’60s folk and post-rave Britpop to traditional fare.

“Now in its 20th year, The Rudgwick Music Festival is one of the longest-running music festivals in the area – and is one of its best kept secrets. Run by volunteers it has helped raise more than £80,000 for local charities. This year the nominated charities are Jigsaw, Care Ashore and local scout groups.

“As usual the festival is in the grounds of the Springbok Estate, Sachel Court Road, Alfold, where there is also ample camping available for the hardcore festival-goers.

“Apart from the Willie Austen Band and the Surrey Hills Ukulele Band the day-long festival has an impressive line-up of some of local talent, including Emilee Lucia, who is back by public demand; the BPM Band, a four-piece outfit from Cranleigh; soul singer Stephanie Davies with her backing band The Super Dynamics; Slack Mac, a three-piece no-nonsense good time band from Horsham; The Fabulous Soul Kats, a top-notch 11-piece band that rocks like no other; and to close the day there is Catfish Blues Band a major blues group with phenomenal musicians.

“And if that weren’t enough the festival boasts an acoustic stage featuring Tony Stone and Taygan Paxton. There will also be the usual array of food and drink outlets open all day.”
