Scotland’s success in West Sussex

“If the series had a headliner it would be the wonderful Dave Gorman who’s unveiling his brand-new show on consecutive nights. Other highlights include Brighton-based Seann Walsh, local favourites The Noise Next Door, John Widdicombe, Dan Antopolski, Peacock & Gamble, and Steve Hall. All events are double-headers.”

Patrick Monahan is an Irish-Iranian stand-up comedian born to an Irish father and an Iranian mother. He has performed at seven Edinburgh Festival Fringes, including five solo shows, and appeared multiple times on The Paul O’Grady Show. In 2001 he was the winner of ITV’s Take the Mike series 1.

Jimmy McGhie studied drama at Kent University and began stand-up regularly in 2005, reaching the finals of the BBC New Talent competition and the Amused Moose Star Search. He performed in split-bill stand-up shows at the Edinburgh Festival in 2007 and 2008, and made his solo debut in 2009 with Jimmy McGhie’s Northern Meeting.

Dave Gorman was a stand-up comedian before he became famous for Are You Dave Gorman?, then took a break from normal stand-up. He returned to stand-up in 2009 with a show called Sit Down, Pedal, Pedal, Stop And Stand Up whose unique feature was that he cycled 1,563 miles from the southernmost point of Great Britain to the easternmost to the westernmost and then to the northernmost with a gig following each night.
