Stephen headscomedy clubnight in city

The next Chilled Chicken Comedy Club in Chichester looks set to be one of the best yet, promises organiser Tim Weeks.

It will be headed by one of the fastest-rising stars on the national comedy circuit, Stephen Carlin.

Originally from Scotland, Stephen has written material for The Now Show and The News Quiz and worked live with Richard Herring and Phill Jupitus.

Tim said: “His act is difficult to describe, taking in whimsy, pedantry, bizarre connections and an obsessive knowledge of international snooker. He really has to be seen to be appreciated.

“He is currently touring in America, and Chichester will be one of Stephen’s few shows in England before going up to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe.

“Supporting him at The Chichester Inn on Thursday, May 29 will be Bobby Freeman, who you may recognise from his TV work with Mitchell

and Webb, and up-and-coming performers Pam Ford and

Nick Elleray.

“This show will be the penultimate in the first season of the Chilled Chicken, then the club will take a summer break for July and August before re-opening for season two in September or October.

“This is partly to allow for holidays, but mainly because nearly all the performers decamp to Edinburgh, and if they’re not there, they’re at other arts festivals around the country.”
