Friday July 4, 6pm: Meet at Warminghurst church gate (TQ 118169). Warminghurst: USA Heritage. The tiny village of Warminghurst has 17th century links to the USA, but is set in a landscape of rich soils, sandy tracks and quiet pinewoods. 3 miles. Leader: Geoffrey Mead, Sussex University.

Sunday July 6, 10.30am: Meet in the car park at the back of The Fountain Inn, Ashurst (by kind permission) (TQ 180161). The Little Arm of Adur. North to West Grinstead following the little known western Adur.

Wednesday July 2, 7.30pm: Meet at the King’s Head public house at 7.30pm or Sports Clubs’ car park by the A272 at 8.45pm (GR: 135/TQ 389210). Evening Nightlife walk on Chailey Common. Short circular walk on the common to see and hear the wildlife, hopefully including the Nightjar and Glow worms. 2 miles. Finish in the dark, please bring a torch. No dogs please. Saturday July 5, 11am: Meet at Staines Railway Station, TW18 4LY (TQ 041714). Linear walk along the Thames Path from Staines to Windsor, passing Runnymede. Flat! There will be a short break on the walk, lunch for those that want it in Windsor at the end approximately 2pm. Depart from HH 09.44, change at Clapham Junction, should be at Staines for 10.52. Trains back run every 30 minutes. If coming straight back should be 16.25 at HH. 7 miles. Leader: Dave, 07887 508350.

Sunday July 6, 10.45am: Meet at Lewes Railway Station forecourt to meet the 10.52 train (122/TQ 416098). Mid Sussex Ramblers hosting and leading for the London Blind Rambling Club. Southover – Juggs Lane – Nan Kemp’s Corner – Kingston – (pub lunch at the Juggs Arms or bring a picnic) – Well House Lane – Spring Barn Farm – The Cockshute Lewes Priory – The Herb Garden – The Dripping Pan – Grange Gardens (for refreshments and toilets prior to returning to Lewes Station). 6 miles. Wotton Common – Friday Street – Broadmoor – (P) – Wolvents Lane – Whiteberry Road – Leith Hill Tower (visit £1.50 and tea kiosk) – car park. 7 miles. Please bring a picnic lunch. Car share. Wednesday July 9, 7.15pm: Meet at Hassocks Railway Station, West Side (122/TQ 304155). Fee payable in station car park or park in nearby streets. Circular walk to the north west of Hassocks. Hassocks Golf Course – Clayton Wickham – Hammonds Mill Farm – Highfield Farm – Friars Oak – Woodside – Hassocks Station. 4½ miles. Saturday July 5, 11am: Meet in the foyer of Highgate Tube Station – Northern Line, Victoria Line from Victoria to Euston, change to Northern Line, High Barnet branch (173/TQ 285881). Walk via Highgate Woods, Alexandra Palace, Highgate Village (L), possible visit to Highgate Cemeteries, Hampstead Heath, Regents Park, Kings Cross. (Details will be available via the members’ website. The walk can be shortened by joining and/or leaving at different points. Entry to Highgate Cemeteries is expensive.) 10 miles, streets, woodland paths and heath.

Sunday July 6, 10.30am: Meet outside the Murrell Arms pub, Yapton Road, Barnham (121/SU 961043). Please park in surrounding streets and not in the pub car park. Walk via Walburton Park, Todhurst Farm, Barnham Windmill (L picnic only), Drove Lane, Weststone Bridge, Church Farm, Barnham. 7½ miles. A shorter walk to complement the longer London Walk on Saturday. Pub available at the end of the walk.
