With a delicious hot supper courtesy of Mister Magnolia’s proprietor, Sophie Boulderstone, a free glass of wine and novelists who know how to spin a best-selling yarn, this promises to be a night to delight and intrigue.

Bethan Roberts’ latest novel is Mother Island. A remote part of Wales is the setting for this tense tale about the abduction of a toddler by his nanny, who is not what she seems.

Bethan’s previous novel, My Policeman, was picked as the City Reads book for Brighton. She teaches creative writing at Chichester University and Goldsmiths College, London.

Rebecca Whitney makes her debut with The Liar’s Chair, a dark portrait of a woman in a toxic and controlling marriage, set in and around the Brighton area.

It’s billed as ‘an intelligent, heart-in-your-mouth thriller and stunning psychological portrait of a woman in search of atonement,’ and has been tipped as the thriller of 2015.

Tickets for Pop-Up Book Lovers’ at Mister Magnolia cost £20 and include a hot vegetarian supper, delicious, home-made cake and a free glass of wine or cordial. The authors will be signing copies of their books at the end of the evening.
