The all-female cast re-enact the precarious lives of the very first actresses on the English stage.

The audience will get to see Nell Gwyn and her contemporaries in all their glory and behind the scenes where their lives are equally comic, gritty and moving.

The show is a fascinating peep back in time to the reign of Charles II and the triumph and tragedy of the celebrities of the London stage.

It is directed by Hilary Palmer and assisted by Mike Whiteley, the only man on the team!

The cast includes: Lauren Ward as Nell Gwyn, Alex Bohan as Elisabeth Farley, Vikki Strachan as Mary Betterton, Caroline Gould as Rebecca Marshall and Carol Wadey as Doll Common.

Playhouse Creatures is at The Capitol Studio, Horsham, from November 12 to 14, at 8pm. Tickets are £12 or £10. Ages 15-18 years only because of some earthy language.

Call the box office on 01403 750220.
