Antony & Cleopatra sheds new light on Shakespeare’s political tale

The show is Antony & Cleopatra, presented by Unmasked Theatre on Sunday, August 16, at 3pm at The Hawth Studio, Crawley.

“Set in a 1930s cabaret club and focusing on the rise of the paparazzi, the blurring of the personal and the private, and the politics of the persona, Unmasked Theatre shed a new light to Shakespeare’s strongly political tale,” said spokeswoman Lorraine McGregor.

“A heavily-physical piece, with live music and dance, audiences are invited to sit and enjoy the heady carnival, and watch those who are always watching.

“Unmasked Theatre is a new community theatre company based in West Sussex, with a focus on modernised stage adaptations of classical literature.

“The company are committed to creating accessible, high-quality theatre for the South East, providing enriching audience experiences and offering opportunities for talented young performers.
