Join the forthright Lizzy Bennett, played by Rachael Down, and the alluringly vain Mr Darcy, played by local policeman Dennis Manning for a two and a half hour rendition, which is set to entertain old and new fans over the week.

Pride and Prejudice is delightful, romantic fun that transports audiences to Jane Austen’s world of desperate spinsters, determined bachelors, nosy neighbors, embarrassing relatives and a smarmy cad or two.

With no sons, Mr and Mrs Bennet are determined to arrange profitable marriages for their five daughters. However, when two eligible young men arrive in the neighbourhood, excitement and passion begin to rule. The Bennet household is in danger of being tipped on its end as the willful, witty Elizabeth is taunted and tantalised by the dashing Mr. Darcy.

Directed by Stacey Fox, Pride and Prejudice has an extra matinee performance on the Saturday in the Studio at The Capitol, Horsham.

The show starts at 7.30pm nightly and 2.30pm for the Saturday matinee. Tickets cost £13. Call 01403 750220.
