Haywards Heath actress stars alongside X-Factor singer in Sleeping Beauty

Twenty-year-old Trixie Waggott from Haywards Heath, who is a second year musical theatre student from Performance Preparation Academy (PPA) in Guildford, has won the part of Sleeping Beauty in this year’s family Pantomime at the Watersmeet in Rickmansworth, Essex.

Trixie is starring alongside X-Factor singer, Jonathan Ansell as Prince Valiant and actor John Lyons – better known as Detective Seargeant George Toolan from the long running series ‘A Touch of Frost’ – as King Crumble.

Singer Jonathan Ansell shot to fame as the nation’s favourite tenor in the classically trained boy band G4 on ITV’s The X-Factor.

Trixie who plays the central character, Princess Aurora – the girl who pricks her finger on a spinning-wheel and falls asleep for one hundred years – said: “PPA is such an exciting place to study and the opportunities to get professional experience in my chosen discipline have given me a real head start in a very competitive industry.”

Sleeping Beauty is on at the Watersmeet, Rickmansworth, until Tuesday, December 31.
