Horrible Histories offer car park party at Lingfield Racecourse
Horrible Histories’ Gorgeous Georgians and Vile Victorians will be offering a car park party at venues this Easter holiday including Lingfield Racecourse (Monday, April 12 at 2pm and 5pm).
Tickets are on sale at www.carparkparty.com starting from £39.50 (plus £2.50 booking fee)
Spokesman Warren Higgins said: “This hilarious hit show is a gag-filled gallop through two centuries of British history with two amazing actors playing multiple historical roles!
“Are you ready to swing with a Georgian king? Can you see eye to eye with Admiral Nelson? Does the Duke of Wellington get the boot? Dare you dance the Tyburn jig? Will you be saved by Florence Nightingale? Find out what a baby farmer did and move to the groove with party Queen Victoria!
“These are just some of the fascinating characters audiences will discover in this splendiferously-funny 65-minute show– history with the nasty bits left in!
“Gorgeous Georgians & Vile Victorians is written by Terry Deary and Neal Foster from Deary’s bestselling Horrible Histories books. Terry Deary is the world’s bestselling non-fiction author for children and one of the most popular children’s authors in the country. He has written 200 books which have been translated into 42 different languages. His 50 Horrible Histories titles have sold over 35 million copies worldwide from China to Brazil.”
Neal Foster, director, Birmingham Stage Company, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing our special production about Georgians and Victorians to car parks around the country. We’re sure the Victorians would have been proud of our ingenuity, even though we’ll be telling horrible and hilarious stories about our illustrious ancestors.”
Having staged their covid-safe production to delighted audiences last summer and then helping thousands of families plug the panto-less gap with Horrible Christmas, Birmingham Stage Company and Coalition Agency are delighted to be on the road.
“Car Park Party know this fantastic show will entertain all ages with its hysterical historical journey through the barmiest bits of British history,” Warren added.
“Car Park Party is brought to you by Birmingham Stage Company and concept creators, Coalition Agency.
“Coalition represent, imagine and deliver dynamic shows, artists and brands all over the world, they are creative minds behind events including Ministry of Sound Classical.”
“We will be adhering to all the current Covid-19 social distancing guidelines to ensure everybody has an enjoyable and very safe experience:
“Car Park Party is an organised gathering whereby we will know in advance those who are attending, enabling contact with attendees before, during and after the event.
“No different from people attending other social-distanced events, our expectation is that people will already be attuned to the measures required.
“We have a traffic management team on site and all vehicles will be parked two metres apart.
Tickets will be scanned through the windows, so no human contact is necessary.
“There will be a range of food and beverage offering available at the event and we will be adhering to all the Covid-19 government guidelines.
“Toilet facilities will be provided with social distancing health and safety management and sanitization measures in place.”
