It will be one of the Christmas treats at the Capitol this December.

Matthew Effemey, operations manager at the Capitol, said: “Christmas is fast approaching and Santa’s Sleigh is nowhere to be found. Will his lovable elves, Sprocket and Dibs be able to create a new sleigh in time or will Christmas have to be cancelled?

“Santa’s New Sleigh, a festive play by Brad Fitt with original music and songs by Richard Lamming is the perfect seasonal treat with audience participation, sing-alongs and a present from Santa for every child.”

The show’s producer Sam Bradshaw said: “It’s been a tough year for our industry but we are delighted to be working with The Capitol to produce this exciting Christmas musical.”

The show opens on Saturday, December 12 and runs until Thursday, December 24 with a relaxed performance on Monday, December 14. It’s a 50-minute socially-distanced show with no interval. The Capitol has recently been granted the use of the Society of London Theatre & UK Theatre’s ‘See It Safely’ mark.

Matthew added: “We are thrilled to be welcoming this wonderful live Christmas show which is perfect for families with little ones aged two to eight. It’s nice and easy to book tickets online and you can be confident that if the show doesn’t go ahead for any reason, you will be offered a full refund. The cast includes Katherine Glover who has performed in shows such as Puttin’ on the Ritz, Spamalot and Thoroughly Modern Millie. Katherine will be playing Dibs the excitable elf . Roman Armstrong will be playing Sprocket the forgetful yet magical elf. Roman particularly loves Christmas as his birthday falls on December 24!”
