Wilde about latest visit

The Synergy Theatre – last seen in Seaford in The Crouch Gardens in September performing a selection of Shakespearean monologues in the rain - returns to Priory School, Lewes, with one of Oscar Wilde’s best-loved plays, The Importance of Being Earnest.

The story of one man’s quest to discover his true identity, marry the girl of his dreams and ideally avoid her mother, Earnest is a delicious comedy of manners, memorably adapted for the screen in both 1952 and 2002, says spokeswoman Eva Tayler.

“Sparkling wit, razor-sharp put-downs, possibly the only use in theatre of sugar lumps and fruit cake as weapons of revenge and, of course, The Handbag. Come prepared to giggle, guffaw and generally have a jolly good time!
