THREE talented songwriters join forces for a special concert in aid of the Alzheimer’s Association.

On Saturday, February 5, Clapham and Patching Village Hall plays host to an evening of original songs performed by Greg Harper, Linda Watkins and Trevor Clawson.

Greg, Linda and Trevor will share a stage in a ‘ongwriter’s circle in a concert themed as Storytellers In Song. It’s a format that will see them swapping songs, sharing anecdotes exchanging harmony vocals.

From the mid 1980s through the end of the 1990s, Trevor Clawson was one of the best known performers on the London folk and acoustic songwriter club circuits. Well-regarded by critics, he earned a reputation for sharp songwriting and strong live performance.

In addition to club and festival appearances in his own right, he supported some of biggest names on the folk and songwriter circuits. These included Grammy awardwinner Shawn Colvin and folk legends Dick Gaughan and Dave Swarbrick.

After a sevenyear break he is now playing, writing and recording again from his new base in West Sussex. Trevor’s music combines folk, blues and jazz guitar styles as a platform for songs that tend to have a strong narrative thread. His album, The Things We Carry. is available at gigs.

Born and raised in the Welsh valleys, Linda Watkins is something of a musical chameleon. Her diverse sets incorporate many different genres, featuring numbers from the traditional, right up to the present day. Linda currently has four albums on sale. Her latest, Emily’s Rainbow, is produced by Mike Silver.
