Video: Open House staff thank their army of flood helpers

Staff at Crawley Open House have offered their thanks to the dozens of people who helped them protect the homeless hostel from flood water.

Senior manager Glenn Stubbs described the flooding which hit Crawley as the worst he had seen in his five years as manager.

He described how an army of volunteers – staff and residents alike – filled 39 empty sand bags with more than a tonne of sand to protect the building.

Glenn added: “We’re all very pleased with the teamwork we put in today, so thank you to everyone who was involved.”
