Sunday August 4, 10am: Meet at the station car park at Horsted Keynes Bluebell Railway Station, Northwards on the B2028 and about 1km before the village of Ardingaly at Burstow Hill take the right turn (TQ 373293).

“Walking the Bluebell and returning on a new line”. In April this year the Bluebell Railway completed the long awaited extension into East Grinstead.

This walk will broadly follow the line between Horsted Keynes and East Grinstead and return by steam train. Allow - £8 for return train fare. 7½ miles. It gets a bit hilly. Public toilets near the start.

Please bring a snack. Leaders: Terry Owen and Peter Anderson, Per-Rambulations.

Sunday August 4, 6pm: Meet at Burgess Hill football club car park (TQ 318204). “Bedelands Farm: Burgess Hill Rural”. Bedelands is a survivor of a lost landscape, Burgess Hill before housing!

The Nature Reserve preserves rare flower meadows, ancient woodland and a tumbling waterway. 4 miles. Leader: Geoffrey Mead, Sussex University.

Wednesday July 31, 10am: Meet at the beginning of Ilex Way, Sea Lane opposite Mulberry pub (GR 111027) (700 bus route). Flat 5 mile walk Ilex Way, Kingston Gorse. Bring snack.

Tuesday August 6, 10.30am: Meet at car park entrance to the Recreation Ground in Hill Barn Lane about 100 yards north of the Broadwater roundabout. A steady 4½ mile climb to Cissbury Ring, down Tennants Hill to Broadwater.

Wednesday August 7. 11am: Meet at the 700 bus stop over bridge at Arundel. (700 bus 9.30am from Worthing Marine Parade to Arundel at 11am) 5 mile linear walk along the river bank to Littlehampton. Picnic lunch.

Saturday August 3, 10am: Meet at the slip road to Stopham Bridge opposite garden centre. Walk via Fittleworth Wood, Bedham Farm, Pallingham Bridge, Middle Barn Farm. Explorer Map 121/TQ 031183. 8½ miles fairly level. No dogs please.

Sunday August 4, 10.30am: Meet at the Blue Ship pub, the Haven, between Five Oaks and Rudgwick. Turn left off the A29 500m north of Five Oaks roundabout; then next left after 1.3 miles. Park on LHS verge beyond the pub.

Walk via Gibbons Mill, Malham, Newpound Common (L), Rowner Lock, Okehurst. (postcode RH14 9BS) Explorer Map 134/TQ 083305. 9½ miles mainly level, canal, woodland and fields. No dogs please.

Thursday August 1, 10am: Meet at the Half Moon car park, Warninglid (TQ 250261). 5¾ mile, circular, guided, free, sociable HDC walk through woods and farmland, past Wealden Iron industry lakes, no stiles, fairly steep hills, good views, No dogs. 2¾ hours. Geoff 258180 and Pat 240654.

Sunday August 4, 10am: Meet at Kithurst Hill car park (off the Amberley to Storrington road, TQ 070125). 5¼ mile circular walk into the heart of the rolling downs.
