Horsham town centre store to shut in its 100th year of trading

A Horsham town centre store has revealed it will close in its centenary year of trading.

Howard Bayliss, owner of the Candy Box in the Carfax said the announcement was made with ‘much sadness and a heavy heart’.

In a statement, he added: “This terrible worldwide pandemic has hugely affected everyone and the Candy Box is no exception.

“Given this, I feel the time is right for me and my family to look at other opportunities.”

Howard said it had been an ‘amazing seven year journey’ and he had made fantastic friends along the way.

He added: “I’m sure I speak on behalf of the many owners when I say that it has been an honour to own one of Horsham’s most iconic shops.

“I will continue trading as normal in July and August and then commence the winding down process, with a view to closing on September 30.
