Mandy Gamon, a teacher at West Sussex Alternative Provision College, said: “They are truly being amazing, getting involved in all the activities we are offering them.

“Forty five of the community rainbows were distributed within four days to the elderly residents near me in East Grinstead, and were painted by students and staff.

“We decided that we would ask for donations for them and give to the NHS when all this is over.

“I put these on the community WhatsApp group for our vulnerable residents and they have been snapped up with residents happily donating, so far £40 made which more than covers the initial cost.

“Such a great day with students and staff. So proud of our students!”

Headteacher of West Sussex Alternative Provision College, Doug Thomas, said they had received further requests for bags from people in our local area and also East Sussex so we have ordered more materials.
