Lena Abdu, PCN Development Manager at Alliance for Better Care, is leading the Surrey project. She said: “The team at Waitrose in Horley have been extremely accommodating and the site offers a perfect location to welcome local residents for the first dose of their vaccination. Our aim has always been to make sure the vaccine is accessible to everyone in our community and initiatives such as this allow us to get closer to our residents and offer alternatives to our regular vaccination sites.”

The bus provides a self-contained, clean and safe location for vaccinations to take place, and benefits from its inbuilt one-way system.

Alliance for Better Care is a GP Federation covering East Surrey, Crawley, Horsham and Mid Sussex. It has launched seven vaccination sites and its team have administered more than 220,000 vaccinations to date.
