These are the are the rates of coronavirus infection in Crawley, Horsham and Mid Sussex as new data added

Public Health England has included results from home testing and drive-through centres for the first time.

Until Thursday (July 2), Public Health England had only included the data from positive tests carried out in NHS settings, such as labs and hospitals, known as pillar 1.

The new data – known as pillar 2 – includes results of positive tests carried out at home or at drive-through centres.

The combined data shows Horsham has recorded 506 positive cases of the virus, a rate of 355.8 per 100,000 people.

Crawley has recorded 418 positive cases, a rate of 371.7 and Mid Sussex 590 positive cases, a rate of 394.1.

Leicester – where a local lockdown has been imposed – has recored 3,673 positive cases, a rate of 1,034.0.

The rate in England as a whole is 435.7.

New data from Public Health England (PHE) shows the weekly rate of coronavirus cases per 100,000 people in West Sussex.

Figures have now been released for the week of June 15 to 21, and for the subsequent week – June 22 to 28.

The data shows the rate of infection in West Sussex has gone down during this time.

For the first week (June 15 to 21), the rate was 3.3.

But by the following week (June 22 to 28) this had fallen to 2.9.
