Coming soon... stylish retirement living in Petworth

McCarthy & Stone is soon to commence construction work on 26 new retirement properties in Petworth.

The new purpose-built development, located on Station Road, has been named Heyshott Court, after a nearby village of the same name, renowned locally for its annual “Harvesting the Old Fashioned Way” festival. It will comprise a mix of one and two bedroom private retirement living apartments exclusively for the over 60’s.

Wendy Slingo, sales and marketing director for McCarthy & Stone South East, explains: “To make the most of your retirement years you want peace of mind, comfort and independence. Our new development will offer this and more. The apartments will be low maintenance in design and will benefit from modern fittings, good security and will have a number of specialist features.”

These features include 24-hour emergency call points, electrical sockets at a raised height to reduce bending, illuminated light switches, a camera entry system, easy grip lever taps in the bathroom and kitchen and energy efficient heating.

Residents will also be able to enjoy landscaped gardens, socialise and relax in the communal lounge and invite family and friends to stay in the development’s guest suite. A laundry room, lift and private parking will also be located on site.

The development is situated in a prime location in the medieval town of Petworth, which is home to a market square and many listed buildings, including Petworth House, the National Trust owned stately home. It is surrounded by Capability Brown’s beautifully designed Petworth Park, while still being within easy walking distance of the main market square with its antique shops, cafés and restaurants. The city of Chichester is only 20 minutes away by car.

Construction of the development is due to commence in August 2011.
