Exciting new talent onshow at town folk club

The Willows Folk Club in Arundel welcomes new young folk musicians James Findlay and Alex Cumming as their next special guests on Wednesday, June 26.

Club spokesman Chris Davis said: “James’ big breakthrough on the folk scene was winning the 2010 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards. Immediately after this he was signed to leading folk label Fellside Records and released his debut album.

“The album, and the numerous live performances that accompanied its promotion, earned James plaudits for his musical skill and particularly for the strength and power of his singing voice.

“In 2012 his debut album was heralded by MOJO magazine as one of its top ten folk albums of the year, whilst all the while James’ exciting style of folk music was showcased at more and more clubs and folk festivals across the UK.

“James has recently released a new album, entitled Another Day Another Story, which once again shows off his supreme skills as a vocalist, guitarist, and fiddle player.

“For his appearance at the Willows, James is joined on stage by skilled accordion player Alex Cumming, another young musician who brings the same energised sensibility to folk music that James does.”

Entrance for James’ & Alex’s gig on Wednesday, June 26 is £5. The Willows Folk Club meets every Wednesday at 7.45pm in the function room of Arundel Football Club, Mill Road, Arundel, situated to the rear of the large public car park opposite Arundel Castle.
