Teenagers help create Prop Box at Horsham

A group of teenagers is behind The Prop Box, a new-concept original musical on the main stage at The Capitol, Horsham, from March 8-10.

Show spokeswoman Jill Landskroner said: “Take three incredible young people, aged 13, 14 and 15, with a shared passion and vision, add a cast of exceptionally-talented local youngsters aged eight to 21, and give them free reign for a week on the main stage of Horsham’s The Capitol Theatre, and you have the latest innovative project from multi-award winning group Act Too.

“The creative team comprises 13-year-old director, Nathanael Landskroner, 15-year-old Toby Miles as musical director and 14-year-old choreographer Reagan Muir. All three are members of The Act Too Arts Academy Principal’s Club and have a string of credits to their name which include several principal roles in sell-out shows and recently a West End credit when they appeared with other members of Act Too alongside Peter Polycarpou at The Garrick Theatre in London.”

Act Too Arts Academy principal Lance Milton said: “At Act Too, we always try to be innovative in promoting young people and their talents, and I thought it would be good to give them a unique development opportunity that no other group had yet provided local youngsters. I am very proud of the way in which they have embraced the project and how well their peers have reacted to being directed by people of their own age.

“The show, The Prop Box, is a brand-new concept show, scripted by director Nathanael, threading an enthralling original story through a multitude of favourite tunes from stage, screen and popular classics. The production features stunning choreography and beautiful vocal harmonies from the best of the young talent from the reputable Act Too Arts Academies along with some of the stars of recent Act Too productions such as Les Misérables, Annie and Beauty and the Beast.”

Director Nathanael said; “We are so grateful to have been given this opportunity and everyone is working really hard to produce an amazing show. We really hope the community gets behind this project and comes along to support us as we would like to share the magic of theatre with other young people.”
