A man from Gatwick has successfully completed the Big Heart Bike Ride in support of the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
David Pearce, 44, joined more than 60 cyclists for the 430 kilometres challeng across India over 10 days, starting at the Taj Mahal and finishing in Jaipur.
He used his pedal power to raise £3,500 to help fund the BHF’s life saving research.
David, who works for Santander, said: “My father had a triple heart bypass a few years ago and now thankfully he’s in good health and going strong. The BHF is funding pioneering research into treatments for those living with heart conditions like my father and that’s why I decided to take on the Big Heart Bike Ride.
“The trip was an amazing experience and I am so proud to have raised £3,500 to help the BHF continue to fund its vital work.”
Santander employees selected the BHF to be Santander’s chosen Charity of the Year for 2015. The partnership aims to raise £1 million to help the BHF in its fight against cardiovascular disease.
