A step forward for new medical centre

PLANS to improve local GP services in Littlehampton have taken a step forward as a ‘crucial’ planning application has been considered.

The proposals, submitted to Arun District Council for consideration, sought approval to change part of the building on Courtwick Lane, adjacent to Morrison’s in the north of Littlehampton, from commercial space to a modern medical facility.

The plans were agreed in principle subject to certain conditions and discussions are underway between all organisations involved to achieve these.

This is a step forward for a project being led by the local NHS to relocate two existing GP practices from buildings, which do not meet the future needs of general practice, and to address an urgent need for primary care in the north of Littlehampton.
