But forget the horse-drawn carriage or luxury limousine. Briony Morley was taken to the church in a Scania heavy goods lorry.

Briony, 29, clambered into her dad's cab wearing a pearl-encrusted dress and made the short-haul journey to Chiddingly Parish Church where she married Matthew Clark, also 29.

'She just wanted to be a bit different,' said Briony's mother, Margaret. 'Her dad Leslie has been driving lorries since before she was born. It was a lovely wedding.'

The service was conducted by the Rev Peter Clark and there were three bridesmaids, Claire Atkinson, 29, Jasmin Broadley-Darby, 10, and her sister Sophie Rose, 5.

Briony's parents were also featured in the Sussex Express when they married at the same church in 1969. Their wedding was attended by pupils from Polegate School, where Margaret teaches.
