A272 gas cylinder explosion update: Road to remain closed until tomorrow

The road between Ansty Cross roundabout and the A23 will remain closed until tomorrow after a gas cylinder explosion set a lorry on fire earlier today (May 22).

The lorry was carrying seven portable gas cylinders with serval exploding setting the vehicle ‘well alight’.

No-one is believed to have been hurt in the incident.

A tweet from West Sussex Highways announced the road will remain closed until tomorrow lunchtime for resurfacing works due to the damage caused by the blaze.
