Owner Brenda Burgess said: “It’s full of sunshine – every room is lovely and bright.”

Brenda and her late husband ‘totally renovated’ the property when they moved to the seaside town in May 2008 for reasons of his health.

She said: “We started with the bathrooms and the kitchen – we put in an all-new kitchen and bathrooms, including a new en-suite shower room. We also decorated the whole house, and added a brand-new staircase, a beautiful oak floor in the dining room and lobby and a big utility room on from the kitchen.”

The couple also wrought an abundance of changes in the spacious south-facing garden. Its lawn is now snugly wrapped in part by a traditional West Sussex style flint wall and replete with sheds, greenhouse and two pergola areas.

Brenda said: “We transformed it and filled it with lovely perennial flowers, from penstemons to spring bulbs and azaleas. Everything comes up year after year.”

Since the sad loss of her husband after 58 years together, Mrs Burgess said her garden has become too much for her and she is moving to be with her extensive family.

“It’s quite big! We were very happy here, but I feel ready now to move on with the rest of my family and hopefully enjoy my life.”

Brenda said she thought her home would be ideal for a family or a retired couple: “There’s plenty of room: it’s spacious, with two doubles, two singles and a family bathroom.

“We’ve got wonderful neighbours. And everything’s to hand round here. There’s the Rose Green parade of shops, plus the doctor’s surgery, the post office and the beach is only a ten-minute walk.

“Everything’s central and Bognor is just ten minutes in the car and Chichester is only 15 to 20 minutes. I’ve really enjoyed being here.”
