The whole school got involved in this gem, which takes a sweeping tour through the school while staff and students lip-sync to Mariah Carey's hit All I Want For Christmas Is You - with various degrees of success!

There’s something extra special about this year’s festive offering as it launches the school’s fundraising drive for Macmillan Cancer Care. The students have dared headteacher Michael Ferry to run the Brighton Marathon in 2017 – a challenge he has accepted on the understanding the school can raise £8,000 in sponsorship money. If they reach £9,000, he will run in a green wig!

Given his colleagues and students have already raised £5,677.58, he should probably dig out his running shorts and brush off his wig in preparation! Mr Ferry said he had been thinking about adopting a cancer charity for some time, and his mind was made up after he spoke to a former pupil who is now fundraising manager for Macmillan. Regarding the marathon, he added: “At first I was daunted by the idea of running the Brighton Marathon, but you try saying no in front of nearly 1,000 students! “As training has gone on I’m starting to believe I can do it, not least because of the support I’ve had both in terms of money raised and messages from parents, carers and not least, students – they are a constant inspiration to me.“The way they are working to raise money is amazing but I shouldn’t be surprised by that as I see it every day. I am so lucky and so proud to be their headteacher.”Mr Ferry's fundraising page can be found at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Michael-Ferry. The video was put together by media technician Josh Smith.
