All in tune for festival success

Warm sunny weather and a great atmosphere made the fourth annual 4SIGHT Hobbs Farm Music Festival the place to be last weekend.

More than 600 people of all ages came to see 13 different acts playing and raised more than 12,000 for 4SIGHT '“ the West Sussex charity that supports people affected by sight loss.

Many families camped overnight and children were able to play in the special field, see the baby animals, enjoy pony rides, and make scarecrows, as well as face painting and other stalls in the courtyard.

The event kicked off with John Otway, self confessed one-hit wonder and one of the most off-beat acts.

The Tail Lights provided accomplished musicianship which got everyone dancing, and new band to the festival The Visitors proved to be a big hit.

Saturday evening was rounded off with popular local band The Snakes playing to a packed Barn.

After the bar closed, there was the usual campfire, impromptu acoustic jamming and singing into the early hours.

Sunday breakfast was followed by some more great acts starting with Kelly's Tattoo playing a mix of traditional folk to get everyone in the mood for more dancing followed by Britonica playing another rousing set in what was a wonderful weekend of music.

Volunteers produced an amazing number of rolls, cakes and snacks for festival goers.

There were also various craft stalls, O'Hagans barbeque, and a bar selling locally produced beer and cider, which went down well in the hot afternoon sun.

Martin Pearson, chief executive of 4SIGHT said: 'This was a fantastic event, with great music and a real family atmosphere.
