Amberley residents will pitch in for green space

AMBERLEY is to launch a Friends of the Millennium Green group next month to ensure there is a regular income to maintain the well-used open space within the village.

Ten years ago, Amberley established the much needed facility thanks to initial sponsorship from a local charitable trust, businesses and volunteers, as well as sponsorship from the Millennium Commission.

Today, two volunteers cut the grass and a third is on hand to repair and service the tractor and other equipment. Twice a year residents turn out for two to three hours to cut back encroaching undergrowth and tidy up the whole area.
