The show, on February 18, will feature an all-in American Rumble, in which the wrestlers can only be eliminated by being thrown out of the ring over the top rope, and the last man left standing is the winner.

Top UK matchmakers Premier Promotions, who are presenting the event, have been staging shows for more than 30 years. They have been around since the days of Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks and Auf Wiedersehen Pet star ‘Bomber’ Pat Roach through to modern-day icons like Doug Williams, Paul Birchall and Zack Sabre.

But this will be their first Wrestling Spectacular at the Civic Centre. The half-term spectacular will see a line-up of new colourful, larger-than-life characters, and promoter John Freemantle believes the Civic Centre could become a regular venue hosting the giants of the grappling game.

He said: “I know the centre has hosted wrestling events before, but not for quite some time, and not the top-class shows that we are noted for, and if the fans support this new venture we will be looking to bring the big stars of today to Uckfield on a regular basis.”

The opening show will also include tag-team and solo matches, and among the stars in action will be the new Premier Wrestling Federation heavyweight champion Josh Faulkner, who won the title in a bout at Worthing in November, and one of the biggest men in wrestling, ‘Man Mountain’ Karl Atlas.

Tickets for the show, including discounts for advanced bookings and family tickets, are available from the Civic Centre on 01825 769694, or online at www.ticketsource.co.uk.
