Another top report for Felpham church school

Staff and children at a Felpham school are celebrating a second good report.

The Diocesan Inspector visited Bishop Tufnell Junior School in March and gave top marks for its work with pupils.

The report from the Diocese of Chichester judged that the school created a safe, happy, healthy, stimulating learning environment within a loving Christian ethos. It also said relationships within the school were very good along with pupil attitudes and behaviour.

Positive and high quality leadership was a feature of the Pennyfields school as well along with its strong Christian ethos.

In four specific areas of achievement, the report says the school is outstanding in meeting the needs of all its 340 pupils through its distinctive Christian character.

Meanwhile, the impact of collective worship on the school community is also judged to be outstanding and was recognisably and consistently Christian. The effectiveness of RE is seen to be good with the quality of teaching ranging from good to outstanding.

There is also the good effectiveness of the leadership and management of the school as a Christian school. The diocesan inspector reflects the school's status as a church school and complements its recent Ofsted inspection.
